Your Family's Lifestyle...

You can further subdivide your home into a guest room, dining room, kids' room and adult's room.  All of this will be determined by your family's lifestyle and your personal preference.

There are many ways to get started with your project.  You might like to begin with a scrapbook for inspiration. Collect samples of colors as well as photographs of rooms and furnishings that you like.

Study that scrapbook and choose the styles and colors that please you.  Your next step is to create a color plan for the entire home.  List the colors (with samples) that you intend to use for each room.

Create a Plan...

Decide on what pieces of furniture you will keep and which must be replaced, and with what. This helps you create a master plan that will work for your entire home. 

Without a plan when you redecorate and furnish you run the risk of ending up with a hodge-podge of colors and styles.  Your result maybe elements that clash instead of blending together to form a pleasing and livable environment.  

It is a good idea to carefully organize space to provide distinct areas for different uses, but at the same time remain a harmonious whole. Planning is essential to creating a beautiful home.

Floor Plan...

A time honored technique is to draw a floor plan and experiment with furniture placement. This will allow you to visualize the layout and organize your space.

This does not mean that you have to buy everything at once, but you should have a clear picture of exactly how the room will appear when finished.

New furniture can make a dramatic difference in your home, especially in the dining room and bedrooms. 

Next you must consider window coverings, wall hangings and all of the accessories that can bring a room to life.
